I just had some, and it's pretty darn good. I made seperate for DH as he likes his HOTTER than I do. His is just switching the ammounts of jalapenos(8) vs. serranos(2), so if you want it hotter...have at it
That's about how many serranos I used for both batches. The celery really sets it off and gives it a crisp flavor. I like the crisp with the heat. DH just likes the straight up heat
I left the tomato out of his too, because it detracts from the heat somewhat...or so he says
Don't know if he likes em but how about trying tomatillos? I love them in green salsa.
We LOVE them, in different things. We have sort of just worked our way into the hot relish. We may incorporate other things into it as he gets a taste for it. Our recipes are ever changing. He tried mine and liked it, but it "wasn't hot enough" for him. He said leave the tomatoes out of his. Basically he wants a hot relish that is just onion, pepper, lime, spices, and salt. I don't put salt in mine either...another reason to make 2 batches. I avoid salt as much as possible.
I'm back, only because one of my quests was to contact a local water well drillers about our well. Needed to get the well details from the state ODNR website, so why not pop on for a few minutes?
