I’m so glad to hear she is acting like she is feeling better, her behavior sounds promising! To be honest I do not know much about the antibiotic she is on, but if it is only a 3-5 day one, I would not be shocked if it worked fast.

I never was clear on if she survived or not, but she did; she is still alive and doing well. The swelling in her abdomen that she had had for a year or longer even went down after she recovered. She had gotten sick back in June, her story is here it’s a little long:

I update the thread still about once a month or when she has a change because I want to document how she does after her recovery. I don’t know if she’ll eventually decline again, a lot of people say they will. I hope if she never lays again she won’t.
Do you think your hen is an internal layer? Does she have a name?
Edited to add, my hen also laid on her side a lot when she was sick. It must take pressure off their abdomen, maybe?
