We normally buy direct from the store but our parents had some chicks shipped from cackle hatchery. There’s 1 that’s been lethargic since yesterday, they gave the chick electrolyte water, it perked up and then today is lethargic again. Was cold when they came home and so now I have it on a heating pad, gave it sugar water.
Anything else I can do?
We have never had sick chickens or chicks before.

For extra info: the brooder was sitting at 100 with an area to move away from the light,
After sugar water it started moving around alittle more and it pooped a watery brown stool, with a bit of yellow ish?
How often do I need to be making it drink, so that I don’t over disturb it

Raw egg yolk and scrambled egg is all I can think of. Do you mean the brooder heat is at 100 degrees?

The brooder it was in, but it was cold to the touch so it’s on a heating pad at the moment. Not direct contact

Unfortunately passed later that night. I think it would’ve been fine if my parents caught it a day sooner. The rest of them are okay
Sometimes baby chicks from the hatcheries have failure to thrive. We ordered 15, got 18 from Cackle. Four failed to thrive. Brooders at 100 degrees can be too hot for them, which ultimately causes poopy butt.
