Hi all!
Yesterday while we were away, something horrible happened. My sister let the chickens out, and about 6 of them were out, and the others stayed in. We suspect the wind blew the door closed, keeping the chickens from going back in. When we came home they were soaking wet, but still ok. They all went in fine, but this morning my sister found our 7-8 month old EE standing alone on her roost fluffed up and looked cold. She wasn’t wet, but wasn’t too interested in moving. Her head was tucked down into her. We took her and put her in a box under our reptile heat lamp. She made a couple clucking noises, and walked a bit, but she still fluffed up and cold. We are trying to find our save-a-chick electrolytes. If we can’t find them, I believe we have some Dr. Berg’s electrolytes for humans as well. She doesn’t seem super interested in eating but I didn’t try to get her to eat much. What should we do for her?

She seems very tired and is sleeping a lot. She really isn’t very friendly, but fell asleep even with me touching her. I’m not sure if she’s laying yet. I haven’t seen any Easter eggs, but her supposedly EE sister from TSC with the wrong comb lays brown eggs, so maybe she lays brown eggs too?
Thank you in advance!

We found some goat electrolytes and she has been drinking it thankfully! She managed to get it all over her face. 😂😍
Standing and walking a bit. Do you think I should leave her inside under a heat lamp, or set her up outside in a sunny dry spot? I don’t want her to get pneumonia if we throw her outside tonight, but I don’t really think she will want to spend the night inside. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

I am sorry. You might want to keep her inside and watch her. I am not an expert but this is what I think. I had a hen once that her leg was in pain and what we did was we got her upfront and then gave her some pain medicine and we got a lot of wood chips down (It was a lot) we gave her ACV and sugar in her water for stress. It helped a lot. We then gave her lots of treats, love, care, and time. after a while she was okay. If your hen is cold maybe give her a towel to snuggle up in (My hens love that) and put a heat bulb on. Make sure she is not wet too. I am not an expert on this. This is just what I have done for my chickens and it has worked.
Hope she feels better! :)

Looking worse today. She’s now back under the heat lamp. I found her standing up by one of our pens with her rooster friend inside. (she is obsessed with our Partridge silkie rooster, even though he has his own hens..) She was asleep standing up. Even when I picked her up she wouldn’t open her eyes. Now they are either half open or closed while she is under the lamp. Her wings are droopy, and her beard was soaked. She seems very thirsty. What can I do for her?
