Lethargic Chicken HELP!

I'm sorry you lost your bird but I wish you hadn't buried her. A lethargic bird is a sick bird and losing 3 in short order means it is time for necropsy and lab work before you lose more. It would have been best to send her to one of your poultry diagnostic labs. Perhaps it would be possible to dig her up and send her.
In lieu of that, if you have yet another exhibiting the same symptoms, I would take the ill bird there for humane euthanasia and a complete lab workup.

This is so sad but i hope that you might be able to shed some light.

I went and gently put a finger up to check her vent and she started to poo greenish loose poo, a lot came out in a matter of seconds then her neck bent backwards eyes wide open and went into a 5 second seizure and then passed away :hit We were thinking of doing an autopsy ourselves but its to hard and emotional so we just finished burying her.

Now sitting here thinking theres a few more things that should be mentioned incase someone else has the same problem like us and you might have the answers.

When we got her she laid eggs as normal.. a happy lady (she has always been a happy chook though) Then the egg laying started to drop however she is the only chicken that would drop eggs at night..easy to tell her egg is white...2-3 eggs a week at night straight on the coop floor. Then the egg laying started to be more and more absent. She stopped laying about 3 months ago possible longer... not to sure about the exact date. She always goes into the nesting box though everyday laying there for double or triple the time compared to the others. We did the whole epsomsalt bath massage and isolation a few times but no egg came so we just thought she must be a bit special..:love We will miss our first chicken Blanca...

Thank you again for taking time to help
I'm very sorry to hear you lost her:hugs

I do understand, I get attached to mine as well, but I've found that performing an informal necropsy when I have one like this usually sheds some light on what was happening. With mine I've found problems with the reproductive system - cancer, egg matter in the abdomen, etc. With each one I do, I gain a bit of confidence in what I'm doing and learn to appreciate my hens even more.
If you happen to lose another, if you can't do one yourself, I encourage you to send the body for necropsy to get some answers.
