I have a New Hampshire named Becky (Bitchy Becky actually - but that's another story). Anyway, she's become lethargic and feels like she has a fever. Very warm compared to the others. She was laying eggs regularly until about two weeks ago. She just stopped and like I said, she's not interacting with the others, and while she still pecks at me when I try to see if she's okay, she's very warm and doesn't do a whole lot otherwise. I felt around her belly and such and I didn't necessarily feel a stuck egg or anything. I haven't done the glove thing yet. I'm wondering, if it is a bound egg, would she get a fever? Any guidance I could get would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to BYC!

I am so sorry about your hen. (I have one like her, bites you every time you get NEAR her. LOL) Yes, could be several things....egg binding, some internal infection, worms, heart condition, some viral disease, etc....Give her an over all exam looking for any other symptoms you can find as the more symptoms we have, the easier it is to make a diagnosis. You can either repost here, or post this in the emergency section of BYC. Kpgoldstar left you with the link.

I hope you can get her back to health soon. Keep us posted!
