I don't know about making electrolytes but there are several places you can buy it. Online, farmers co-op, tractor supply. I've seen a lot of chick/chicken supplies showing up in the pet stores and the pet section of grocery stores, so maybe it can be found there too. I use this kind that I got at my local co-op feed store. It has instructions for mixing on the back.
