lethargic duck not eating feathers have been falling out

I used to have that problem with my chickens though. Every chick i got from them turned out to be a rooster lol

Hahaha i usually get a lot more females than drakes I'm just lucky i guess lol.

I seem to always hatch drakes here.. i do get some ducks but they are the minority. Roosters seem to hold a high level too.. two batches of silkies(SR) have yielded 8 cockerels.

I found out what happened to poor Lilith and i feel like the biggest idiot for not realizing sooner. It turns out the poor girl had an old spring stuck in her mouth and stuck to her beak i cant believe i didn't notice it until today. Most of it was in her mouth and i could hardly see it. I pulled it out but her poor beak looks weird now

It must have been in there for a while.

Ouch! Thank you for the follow-up information. I have written this before - ducks can get into the most unimaginable trouble….

I will remember to have people check their ducks' bills closely.

This makes sense in retrospect - the way to induce a molt is to remove food from the duck.

I'm so glad you found that spring! Hopefully, she didn't swallow anything else. Teenage ducks seem to get into all kinds of trouble with picking up small objects. I named a duckling "rubber band" because she had a rubber band around her bill when I first met her. It eventually broke off and she was fine, but I did notice she picked up all kinds of things like fishing line, etc, that could get her in trouble.

Yeah i have no idea where she found it i hope she didn't get into my fathers shed or anything. I'm just happy its out now and she is eating again. She seems a lot better now, i put some antiseptic ointment on the top and bottom of her beak.I might have hurt her tongue pulling it out and i'm wondering if i should give her antibiotics in case it gets infected.

I would be sure she has some ACV in her water, maybe dab the outside and underneath of her bill with antibiotic ointment. But if you feel an oral antibiotic is a good idea, then go with it - you are with her and know better than anyone how she looks.
