Hi all!
I'm fostering ducklings for the first time. Pekin ducks to be exact.
I have 3. They will be two weeks old on Thursday.

Yesterday one was sleeping a lot more than the others.
Today it's lethargic and:
- avoiding treats like tomatoes and melons, still eats small amount of food, drinking water
- avoided swimming
- no running
- no bug hunting
- UNSTEADY ON FEET: this one has me worried. It wouldn't lay down outside, it just stood there looking like it's legs wanted to give out. But it wouldn't lay down.
It's doing the same thing indoors...

It's now the smallest duckling of the three when it was one of the biggest.

I did get it in water, it was ducking and drinking. But it didn't change anything. It's still really slow and lethargic.

It's crop looks full. Possibly needs Grit? Keep an eye on it.
Yes, it's not stretching it's neck out like the other ones do.
I have the duckling food that it's eating bits of. Is that grit? It looks like light brown dirt/pebbles.

:welcome How warm is it where they are staying? and what all have you been feeding them besides what you posted already? Adding any vitamins of niacin? It's defiantly looking very small compared to the others. How's the poop looking?
I have a heat lamp that is on in one part of their cage that they can get under, they can also get away from it if it's too warm.

They tried and didn't like: grapes, corn, lettuce, bread.
They have had a few grains of rice.
I have not added any vitamins!

No they need chick grit if they eat anything other than their starter. Put in a small bowl close to their feed not In it, they’ll eat it

No Grit is small stones. It's called chick Grit and help digest feed. I'd add a little to the treats they eat.
