I weighed her, she weighs a little over three pounds, she pants with her beak open, she did this about two ago, but not as bad, we have another hen that opens her beak really wide almost like she's trying to crow, I don't know if that might be a symptom of something more serious. I dusted her with seven dust, I clipped all of her dirty feathers on her bottom. She is still eating and drinking. I forgot to mention earlier that this weekend she had impacted crop as did another hen, hers got worse and she got sour crop, her crop felt squishy, so I held her neck straight, tilted her forward and massaged her crop, a bunch of yellow junk came out, she has been really weak since then and not able to walk. We had this happen with another one a few weeks ago, but I found out about it too late and she died. I treated the whole flock with corid for cocci, because I had no idea what it could be, two tsp per gallon, but I was never sure about the exact dosage, I will treat again once they are off wormer. After corid, I put her on safe gaurd, for 7 days, but not sure if it was the right dosage, but I read on another thread to give a pea size amount, so I did. I now have her on valbazen to kill any other worms. Should I keep her on valbazen or go back to safe guard at a higher dosage? Thanks for all the help.
