Lethargic Hen - why?

I compared her weight to the other hen she is with and there was little to no difference between them, so I'm guessing she's fine there. I will most definitely do the oyster shell and yogurt, though I'm going to have to hand feed it to them. I don't want the chicks eating it. Neither hen has laid an egg today. Probably because I don't have layer feed in their pen, but rather the Starter/Grower. In which case, they will definitely need to oyster shell.

How could I not know that? Thanks so much for your help! I also put colloidal silver in their water. I've heard great things about it.

Can you put her back on starter grower - say in a higher feeder?

Oh and on the colloidal silver - it's better on the bird than in. In the bird it can still kill bacteria, which means it can kill their good gut bacteria, too. I have heard it's great, but that one thing concerns me.

I'm really hoping that you will see some results with her and quickly.

So you want her on Starter/Grower? Would the layer be better so that she can get the calcium or..??? Right now the only feed she can reach is the Starter/Grower which is mostly for the chicks, but I don't mind them eating it.

And the colloidal silver. My mom buys it from a place called Nature's Sunshine. The product is Silver Shield and is meant to be consumed. I have had it many times. I never noticed a difference in bowel movements or the like, but I do see why you caution it.

Sorry - I mistyped - I meant back on the layer for the calcium and other egg building nutrients (like D3). /sigh long day!

The starter/grower is'nt necessarily bad for a healthy hen - but since this one possibly has a laying issue... better safe than sorry.

That's what I thought you meant. Thanks so much

I will let you know how she's doing.

Ok.. today she is doing a lot better. Eating and drinking normally and looks all around good... EXCEPT her and the other hen she is with are not laying any eggs. She won't touch the oyster shell, but I have gotten them to eat the layer feed.
