Lethargic hen x2 days, I need some advice please.

Your hen sounds alot like my hen. My post is above if you want to read. Didn't know what she had so I tried everything. What worked was a dose of Fenbendazole (dewormer sold as Safeguard or Panacur) My hen is a tiny banty, so it just took 0.25 ml orally (can give up to 1.0 ml for a standard size chicken) She had gone for 10 days without eating...well I fed her with a syringe...dripping it on her beak, took forever and her breast bone was quite pronounced at the end. I fed her yougurt/unpasturized honey/applesauce and cream. If you can get some of this dewormer it might work for her too? Hope she pulls through.

Update on Golden...I've been feeding her mashed up pellets with grape seed oil, applesauce and yogurt mixed with water. I've been offering her food ever hour or so and so far she has eaten about 2 tbls worth and I've been giving her about a tablespoon of water after each feeding. She's much more perky today, mostly standing in the bin with her head out. When the weather clears up this afternoon I'm going to take her out back and see how she does in the yard. So far she seems to be doing better than yesterday.
Thanks for every ones help and input! I really do appreciate it and I'm sure Golden does too!!

Make sure your birds also have free choice access to grit. That will prevent potential blockages from forming! See if you can get her to take some grit.

Good luck with your girl!
