One of my hens (white leghorn) has become very lethargic and lifeless this week. She basically just stands with her eyes closed, not moving much at all. Her breathing doesn't look labored but her nose looks a little wet. It looks like narcolepsy. Not sure if chickens get that. Any ideas? A few weeks ago one of my hens had CRD and I had to put her down. Could this be related to that? This leghorn is not exhibiting any of the symptoms my other bird had so I don't think it's related but what do I know.

Well, after I wrote my first message the girl died. Maybe she was egg bound or had a flu, who knows for sure. That's two hens in two weeks I have lost.

I give my birds oyster shell, electrolytes and I spray them for lice/mites so I don't know what else to do.

I've been reading up on mites/lice. I use a spray some dude at the feed store gave me. I took his word for it but now I don't know if it's even for mites/lice. I will check the name of it tomorrow. I'm also going to dust the run, the laying boxes and the coop (they RARELY go in the coop) with Sevin dust or something else. I want something I can easily apply to all areas of the coop/run/roost without having to apply multiple products. I am disabled so it's not always easy for me to do a lot of hard work. I think I will also make a dust pit. I read on here where you mix equal parts wood ash, sand and dirt.

Any more ideas? Thanks

checked all hens for mites. found none. that's good news. the spray i have is permethrin so i feel confident there are not mites/lice in my coop/run.

there's SO many things that can go wrong with a chicken. sour crop, mites, worms, egg bound, CRD are a few that I know of.
