It does sound like it could be impacted crop. Check out the link I shared!I just felt her crop again, there feels to be 1 full corn kernel inside there along with whatever fluid surrounding it. I think this counts as impacted? I'm not sure. I am worried that it'll become sour though. What should I do to A) remove the kernel and B) prevent her from going sour?
I'm sorry for all the questions, I'm just kinda panicking... I've lost so many of my babies this year and I'm not sure if I could take another loss right now![]()
Thank you! Yes, I've read the article quite a few timesIt does sound like it could be impacted crop. Check out the link I shared!
I have taken away the food for the night but her crop is still the size of a blueberry and squishy- no sour smell.
Re-check the crop first thing in the morning before she's had anything to eat/drink. Tell us what the crop is like then.I just felt her crop again, there feels to be 1 full corn kernel inside there along with whatever fluid surrounding it. I think this counts as impacted?
Thank you. We took her to the vet who said the kernel is still loose and not an issue. She suggested continuing the Corid and to give probiotics (yogurt, etc.,)Re-check the crop first thing in the morning before she's had anything to eat/drink. Tell us what the crop is like then.
Feeling something that feels like 1 kernel of corn and some fluid (water?) I wouldn't be too concerned about during waking hours if she's been eating or drinking a little.
Do be sure that she's drinking the Mixed Corid water. This is your main focus right now is to get the Coccidiosis under control. If she's not drinking, then syringe the water into her several times a day, she needs the meds in order to get better.
Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid Dose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water.
Do not add any extra vitamins/electrolytes that contain B1(Thiamine) to food or water during the course of treatment.
Did she pull through?Back again... I syringe fed her about 10cc of wet catfood last night (Dr. said it was fine) and her crop hasn't gone down again... any suggestions please?
Hello! Sorry, I just saw your message. Yes, she did pull through. It took a couple weeks of round-the-clock Sub-Q, syringe feeding, B12, Corid, Antibiotics and LOTs of bovine probiotic (I gave her 3ccs before each feeding) But she's pulled through and is currently fit as a horse!Did she pull through?
