Lethargic with eye bubbles

She lived several years, and just one day died. I don’t know that she had MG, but it was just a guess. MG is pretty common in backyard flocks and in some wild birds. I wouldn’t just give her antibiotics every time she had bubbly eye unless she has other serious symptoms, such as mucus from her beak or nostrils, head shaking, sneezing, gasping, etc. You can be the judge to use antibiotics, but antibiotics can be bad if you are dealing with crop problems or yeast.

Still having issues here. Can either of you tell me how much I would give her of Tylan if by syringe? Or how to administer when refusing to drink water? I tried adding sugar to the water. Won't touch it

Did you add the water to the powder and mix it 1 teaspoonful per gallon or 1/4 tsp per quart? I can’t give you an exact amount of the water to give her orally with a dropper. But you could mix some more concentrated and give it to her orally. Normally if she was drinking, she would tske the correct amount for her weight. A packet of Tylosin has about 99-100 Grams of tylosin in it. Dosage of tylosin when we used to have the injectable vials of Tylan, was 5-10mg per pound of weight 3-4 times a day. 1000 mg equals 1 gram. So if you can figure that out you are a better at math than I am.

Is she eating any chicken feed? If so you could add some treated water to some feed.

I did a half teaspoon in a half gallon. Shell drink normal water but even if it's her only option, will not drink the medicated water. She is eating well. Her eye is quite bubbly and some minor nasal discharge, which led to me deciding to treat her, out of fear of her getting sick. I can try adding it to her feed but I just really have no idea how much she should take in.

Tobramycin eye drops treats certain bacteria, usually gram negative ones. I don’t know if it treats MG. Mycoplasma galisepticum responds to Terramycin, erythromycin, Neosporin, and some others. You can just use some saline to clean the eyes to keep them from crusting or sticking together. I have used plain Neosporin in the eye without any problems.

I actually have Neomycin/polymyxin drops as well. Would that be best? Safe to start? (She's been on the other drops for six days) Just not sure if this is even MG or potential injury.
