Letharigic Sick Hen...

If she is drinking, give her vitamins and electrolytes. You are not an idiot. Many old timers used to feed their chickens corn or scratch, but it is not a complete feed. It may not be your fault at all that she is not laying. She may have a reproductive disorder. But she should be on layer feed as 90% of her diet, or you may give her Flock Raiser Feed with some crushed oyster shell in a separate container on the side. Flock raiser or all flock feed is used by many when you have roosters and hens, or chicks around. As long as she has the oyster shell, she will take enough as she needs for eggs.

Thank you once again for you're time and the information you've provided.

Just 1 thing I noticed. My Hen started acting unwell pretty much after we were moving some things out of the house into the back garden.
Mostly some carpets and old vacuums as such but I tried to make sure everything was covered so they chicken's couldn't get at it.

If she has swallowed something either poisonous or something that's obstructing her intestine, what would be the best course of action?

Pictures can also be helpful .

I took some pictures but she looks pretty fine physically I think?

Today I gave her Wet Feed, Layer Pellets crushed in water which she ate a good amount of and also the Vitamin Water. I left her a good amount in the feeder before I went to work and when I came back a lot of it had been eaten presumably by her since I only have another Male Chicken outside with her and her Crop was full.

So I think its helping, she's been a lot more active today and been rummaging and poking around most of the day which she wasn't doing the past 2 days. Also her Crop was somewhat empty in the morning save for a few pieces of grain I had force-fed her the night before.

I will bet that she is a real beauty when she is not molting. After seeing picturea, she may just be having a hard molt , and the extra foods may help her get through that okay. My chickens become listless and do not eat well during molting, which is taking place now. I give them both dry feed and mix up some wet feed which they prefer. They do have some runny poops with the wet feed, so don’t worry. At least after the meds, you won’t need to worry about coccidiosis.

Thank you, she is a fluffy beauty when she has all her feathers.
I hope it's nothing serious but I'm sceptical... she still has diahorria and she's still acting tired. She's sat in the Coop and keeps closing her eyes. She goes in the Coop during the day normally but she's never fallen asleep or looked lethargic.

Just hope the medication the Vet gave works hopefully.

I have a hen (@2yrs old) she was standing alone and looks lethargic. She ate some oatmeal I offered her this morning, her butt looks clean, abdomen is soft. She is in with 3 other hens so not sure if she has been laying, I haven’t seen any diarrhea from anyone. Looking for suggestions of what might be going on.
