I love seeing pics of everyone's coops! We refurbished an old coop that was on our property when we bought our house. It hadn't been used for almost 30 years. It only cost around $75 to get this far. In the end, I'd like to stain it to match our house. Oh, please don't mind the mess in the corner - I found all that in and under the coop, and figured I could re-use it all somehow. The chickens don't mind - they nap behind it!
I just finished building my coop last week. I started with a bathroom vanity from the habitat restore, which fell apart when I removed the shelf! My recommendation to anyone starting - get a good plan and a second drill (I used only screws, no nails). The coop is now inside my 5' by 10' dog run, lined with hardware cloth.
And then thanks in part to a great deal found on craigslist and the absolute wonders of my wonderful DH this is what the girls have now. Good thing since chicken math has come into play and we now have more than when he started building it.
That pic is kinda dark I think, I'll need to try to get a better one but it shows the run that is a 24x24 and split down the middle.
Locking mechanism inside the coop, that is unlockable from outside the run/coop!
Since taking these pics I have painted the name of my coop on the door, but I left town the next day for a week, so I haven't had a chance to take a pic of it yet. I named it 'The Biddy Barn' since it is painted barn red.
