26,677 Cattle are still decent money. My husband started his herd with one female, he just kept the girls and sold the boys. I don't know that you have that kind of space, but each calf she gives you could bring you around a 1000 dollars (depending on weight and prices)

Well we just bought 22 acres up in VT so would have plenty of space, we are living on 13 acres right now and have the 3 cows (plus 3 horses) but will be moving to our new land in the next few years. Mom is the cow person and she is still deciding what she wants to do. The new land is mostly field and we will be clearing most of the trees too, plus it is on a slight hill sloping south which is awesome cause it gets so warm during the day.
