I think I draw the line at using someone's old toilet in my garden

But this looks neat if you have your own that's been replaced

Love your project Torilovessmiles. People throw away so much now. Between composting, recycling, and reusing, I have hardly any trash to put out for my weekly pickup. My biggest contribution is clumping cat litter, which I just can't figure out a way to reuse. I could probably put alfalfa pellets (the small ones made for rabbits) in the boxes instead of litter, then throw everything in the compost pile, but I just like having it deep enough for them to dig, and also being able to scoop it out daily. With the alfalfa pellets you have to throw out so much at a time to keep the box clean.

It's a shame that so many old tires get thrown away -- tires can be recycled into so many new items, there's no reason for them to take up space in a landfill.

Thanks!
We only have one indoor cat, so cat litter doesn't make up a whole lot of our garbage. She doesn't like the pine pellets for some reason, though we used it with our old cat. If you want to save a bit on pine litter, horse bedding pine pellets are the same thing but a lot cheaper! I'd say most of it is probably plastic, since we don't have plastic recycling where I live. Only metal. We try avoid buying plastic things and reuse as much as possible, but it seems that's all anything is packaged in!
Hopefully I'll get some shares of this to pinterest, facebook, and twitter. Spring seems to make people want to do things! haha

I hear you about the cat litter. We have one - repeat one -indoor cat and she goes constantly, always has. Litter is a nightmare. Maybe I'll try the horse pellets since i already use em in the chicken run and absolutely love them.

Yeah we started using horse pellets after we went to tractor supply, and had both feline pine and horse pellets in the cart, and realized that they're about the same price! Less plastic waste by buying the bigger bag as well, and you can put used pine pellets right into the compost pile!
