"Norah" is about 5 weeks old and is certainly falling into the roll of flock protector. "She" is also getting a nice looking little comb, is not plump and chesty like the rest of the flock, and has pretty chunky legs. Any one want to offer an opinion on if I've got a roo here?

Darn! That's what I was afraid of! Good thing is, I'll certainly know how to pick one out next time. From the very beginning she was the bold one. I kept thinking she was just a brave little chicken--it all makes sense now!

I vote roo too.
My aunt is already trying to give me a roo chick. I may rename the one I have stew. He is the meanest rooster I have come across in a long time. He is a beautiful Americana and was a sweet chick. He protects the flock and is a great watch dog. Anyone have any ideas on taming him. Yea i'm new at this. I could use some help understanding how much to feed an adult chicken. The size of Americanas. I searched the 101 and learning center, but didnt find this info. Thanks.

I actually now have a lead on a pet home. Cross your fingers for me that it comes through--if not, it's going to be the roasting pan for this one!
