...also according to McMurray, chick number 2 (photos #3 & #4) is definitely not a Golden Laced Wyandotte, though maybe there are different strains? I'm afraid I wouldn't know – any Wyandotte experts?

Chick number 3 (#5 & #6) probably could be a Rhode Island Red – you can judge for yourself.

Chick number 4 (#7 & #8) looks both like our Black Sex-Links, and one of our Black Australorps. Here's the link for the McMurray Australorp page

Oh – and just my own guess, but chick number 2 looks a lot like our Buff Orpingtons. But it also looks a bit like two of our Gold Sex-Links. Is your chick's back darker than its head, or is it the other way around? Our Golds have darker backs than heads.

Ok so far I think I have it figured out...

# 2 is Buff Orp
# 3 is Rhode Island Red
#4 is Black sex link which I am pretty sure is a female...based on light feather markings...

Still don;t know what #1 is....I am thinking Brown leghorn but not really sure....

Can someone figure out #1 for me?...

Oh – I looked at our Australorps last night after posting, and NONE of them look like chick number 4 (although I had said this in my former post). So, pretend I never said that.

I am by no means a chicken expert, but here's my go at guessing your breeds:

Chick 1 – Afraid I really don't know.

Chick 2 – Buff Orpington?

Chick 3 – Maybe a Rhode Island Red, but we don't have any of these and I couldn't say for sure.

Chick 4 –This looks a lot like our Black Sex-Links, so that's what I'd guess that one is.
