So from the look of things a for of my girls are boys and maybe a boy is really a girl....idk! Here are some photos of the ones im on the fence about. So far I havent SEEN anyone crowing however I have heard a few pittiful attempts. I also found bruce belting out what sounded like the egg song and considering he was the runt and blossmed out so fast (height,weight, waddles,and comb) i really thought rooster but now.....idk

Also any idea on what breed or cross they might be?

Bruce looks like a Barred rock hen, Skittles is a barred rock rooster. I'm leaning toward rooster for Nugget, not sure about Col. Sanders.

Do barred hens mature really fast? Bruce is twice the size of skittles.

And i thought nugget was a roo when still in the brooder. Way more developed in thw comb then any of its brooder mates which turned out all pullet. Then it just seemed to stop. And i mean stop! It didnt seem to get any bigger or have any comb growth and now its starting to change a little by little. I was told it was a RIR at 1wk but nahhhhh probably not.

They all definitely look like cockerels because they all have bright red combs that pullets only get when they are around five months old or later. Bruce looks like a Barred Plymouth Rock, Bruce and Skittles may be Easter Eggers or just crosses that have pea combs, and Col. Sanders looks like a Red Sex Link

Hmmmm... I have never seen a red sex link as white as col. sanders but have thought nugget was one (although sold to me as a rir chick) and i think skittles is sadly a roo too. That chicken waits for me to pick it up everytime it sees me amd we have really bonded, but i cant have roos here. Now ol bruce.....single comb there def. not a pea. His color made me think roo even when it was little compared to the other BRs i have but other then that and how fast it grew out that red comb and waddles id swear it was a hen. Wishful thinking maybe.

Red sex link roosters are mostly white with a yellowish tint and some have red on their wings, if you google red sex link rooster you will see what I mean.

Agreed. Red sex link cockerels are all white with some spots of red on their wings.

They make Crow collars that can be used for roosters in town enviroments. They will still try to crow but it will be muted.
