This is a (hatchery) Large Fowl Black Cochin cockerel 16 weeks old in the picture.
Still has a lot of growing and filling out to do.

They just naturally occur in poultry. It is a recessive trait. I had a pullet to hatch and had to work from there, it took about 3 year of breeding before I had a line of silkied cochin from the one pullet. There are also silkied Serama, and Japanese bantams.
