I need one to seperate 4 Bantams from the standards. The Seabright Roo chases the RIR's and Elvis bounces on the Porcelain Roo. Anyone have some easy plans that 2 women with no building experience could build.

It may not measure up to these fine examples but since I see this kind of request often on this forum - - If you really want it simple, use a plan for a doghouse and set the house on a table. The legs of the table can be part of the pen with a ladder descending from a hole either in the house floor or a door in the back wall. The front door of the house should be large enuf for a person to, at least, reach inside.

The simplest plan for a one-sheet plywood doghouse that I know of is for sleddogs. I've seen these plans recommended by animal shelters for something just about anyone can put together in their backyard.

This is a little more complex doghouse but it is also made with only one sheet of plywood. It is quite small but should be large enuf for 4 banties.

The pen can be any size that you would comfortable with and the top rails could be long enuf so as to be used as handles for moving. The area under the house could be enclosed so as to provide more shelter for your birds. A gate or door between the table legs would provide easy access.

Roof slopes should be away from the pen so that runoff doesn’t fall onto the ground there.

I hope this helps

"Is that a truck canopy?????"
Yup! It's one my daughter didn't need anymore and dropped off here several years ago. Finally found a good use for it. She had it painted with moon and stars hippie style which wouldn't do. (At least for me)

Nice tractors! Do the chickens just go in there during the day, or do they roost in there at night, too?

Do you know if anyone on here has used these? I would really like to see what they look like. I think this would be perfect for what Im needing. I want to have a permant coop/tractor for 3-4 bantam chickens.

havi, I'm a little reluctant to say, "Hey, that looks like a doghouse!" I'm sure that lots of folks were thinking "chicken, chicken, chicken" right thru their building process.

There are a few who readily acknowledge that they went out and got a doghouse and converted it into a coop. Some have just converted a dog kennel and most have just left it at ground level. Some have used "Mother Earth News' Portable Chicken Mini-coop Plan." I think coffeelady3 did a real good job and hers is a "converted doghouse" and "works just peachy" by her own admission.

As far as those that go above a pen: This guy is in the UK and probably can't get at me quite as easily

. But, I think nearly all of these fine looking coops look like a well built doghouse on stilts. Don't you?
