Let's see your coops!!

I was going to build this for my turkeys. Put on some sides for draft protection, the front could probably be closed as well.
Not near as impressive as Franzen Farms.

If I had the money and time to put up a big enclosure like you have then I would certainly do it! As it is I am still trying to figure out how to keep the turkeys. I have a few open acres in my front pasture but getting the money together to make a nice enclosure is something else. I do, however, have a Great Pyrenees that tries to watch the whole farm but she occasionally has to sleep and a hawk or owl is ever watchful for that nap!

I saw on here, when I did a search, a design looked like something I may can replicate.
The people used half of a huge hay feeder turned up on end so it made an arch, they put a piece of plywood on the back and that left a space of about 2' from it to the top of the hoop but made a nice back and they put a tarp over the arch and left the front open. Then had 2 2x4s in there for roosting and I think just laid them across the bars that make up the hay feeder.
I don't have an arch feeder like that but I do have wood and thought possibly a open front shed would work. I am considering making the pen 30 or 40' long, 15 or 20' wide and putting the shelter on the north end of the pen. I have some trees in the pasture that may shade it well enough but I am still thinking on all this.

Nice Pen Man, but will it hold horses ?

Here is my temporary turkey coop... we will be moving the turks into their own enclosure that I am going to make out of dog kenneling with a top and tarps.

Here is what we are working on, not as large as this though... *note; this is not my picture.*

I like the looks of the Sweetgrass but DH chose white Palm and Tiger Bronze. I know nothing of turkeys except that people eat them but he wants his for looks so we shall see what happens. I don't think he will let me eat these unless we have too many males. We eat a lot of chicken and some of our ducks and plan to try Guinea one day. The turkeys may have to multiply before we eat any of them.
