Lets see your Geese and Breeder pens

I found a dog kennel too small once you add the kiddie pool. It is mud in no time. I like to use small yards within a larger fenced yard. Here is a pic from last year. The 2x2 fencing is found at lowe's. It was a 50' roll but used the board fence for one side, so roughly 15x20 pen. This year I planted rye grass so they will have some grazing options. Last year I grew a mixed romaine salad blend for them (and me).

Mine do like their greens!

Beautiful set up you have.

I love to see everyones pics. I will be making many changes to my own setup to make it easier for next winter. I will be making two more pens at least.

What dimensions would you all recommend for a breeding pair of embdens? They will have a 15 x 30 sq ft yard in which I will build their shelter and put the kiddie pool. Will the gander sleep in the same shelter as the goose or should they have separate sleeping quarters?

I'm thinking 10 ft wide x 4 ft high x 3 ft deep. Would that be big enough? I have no idea how many babies they'll have each year so I tried to accomodate for babies.

Last question: Are geese like dogs, cats, etc. and shouldn't be bred to sibs? Or does it matter?

THANK YOU!
