Let's share our chicken decor!

Pics
I found a couple more things yesterday, will try to upload a picture later. Funny how you just look past the stuff that's right in front of our noses.

Mom gave me 2 of her huge collection of little antique dishes, she has about every animal imaginable in these but knew I'd appreciate the chicken ones most. She said ladies used to use them for body powder, button dishes or for bits of jewelry. The little hens are the top that lift off and they're sitting on their nests (the bottom piece).

This is part of my pelican collection. It's a carved sea shell made into a night light. When it's lit up the thicker part of the carving (the darker parts) really show up. It's right over my bathroom sink and I use it daily, how did I miss it?

Very pretty NFC, I inherited 3 of the glass chickens dishes from my uncle. love that pelican night light.

Thanks
I figured why pay for glass bulbs that can fall and break if I can make some of my own with the Ladies help we are Christmas Crafters for the moment.

Thanks!! I have quite a few of them. I have learned over the years how to fix them when the wax starts to sit at the bottom. Most people at that point just throw them out and get a new one. Me I get my chemistry hat on and re-solitifiy the liquid to make it more buoyant so that the wax will rise when it is heated. The basics of Archimedes Principle. They are fun to mess with.

Okay, excuse my ignorance but was it the Archimedes Principle that he discovered while taking a bath? About displacement? Something like that, right?
