Me and my buddy, Morgan

Proud owner of Nigerian Dwarf goats. They are both wethers (neutered males) and I show them in 4-H!
Love those two middle photos! You've got some handsome goats. Have they ever gotten any ribbons? :) I'd like to show someday, but it hasn't happened yet.

I have a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats, one buck, one wether, and three does, plus the kids we haven't sold yet. I also have a 3/4 LaMancha, 1/4 Nubian doe that is sweet as can be. : )

Just picked up a young doe and Im concerned she may be pregnant since she was in the same field as a full grown nigerian dwarf buck.

She is ONLY 6 MONTHS OLD!!! So she is appx the same size as that lil guy. She is an Alpine cross, and still has alot of growing to do, but I know they can be fertal at a very young age. I was shocked to see her running with the same herd running with the buck!!! The previous owners weren't much help, in fact they were selling off their small herd because the wife started working again and they had less time for livestock, so it came down to goats or cattle, so goats got penned up together in a one acre field and put up for sale. Basically no one has been home to keep an eye on them to look for signs of heat in the does. Does anyone know how to check a does backside to tell if they are open or bred?? I've heard of some ppl being able to have a good guess just by the way the girl looks. This little doe is NO WHERE CLOSE to what I'd consider a healthy breeding weight and fear I'll loose her if she is in fact pregnant and gives birth so young. Not much I can do if she IS bred, but would be relieved a bit if there is a low chance of pregnancy...

Ya, it'll be later today before I can get pics of her up, depends on when it stops raining today. I'll take some of her backend. She isn't "puffy" back there and is still smooth, but her vulva is really long with the tip pointing down, and her anus has dropped down low instead of being tucked up nicely under her tail, like she has been bred according to the "pooch test " I found finally. I think she would at most be only a month along (gawd I hope thats all) if she is preggers, but thats just a guess. Looked into biotracking last night for pregnancy testing, but honestly I figure she'll start flagging and such if she comes into heat again and that'll give me an answer but if not I'll watch for udder development in a couple more months. I would just feel a little better if somone else had an opinion on her. I really thought I'd be able to start loading some calories on her, but now I've got to find that special place where she gets all she needs to grow out, but not too much that could create a huge kid... ugh, pics will be up later. She also got a dose of Ivomec, and that may screw her up if she is preggers??? Not sure. It was part of me buying her, she got dosed with wormer before she left her old home.

This is squirt and nibblet.

Squirt is my new found friend. He has some health issues (mites/lice/worms) and his owner relinquished him into my care. So now I have a 2.5 month old goat that is about the size of a house cat. This photo was taken in July and he is no bigger than he was back then. I'm gonna need some help! I was not expecting to get a goat until spring! Im so unprepared! Luckily he is housed at a good place until October.

Captain's (the white one) dad was a national winning buck and his mom was a state champion. Hopefully, Captain will bring home 1st this year! Morgan (the brown one) is actually a cart goat! I hope to enter him in a goat carting race soon! XD

Here is the best photo I could get of her backside. Hard to tell here I guess, dosn't look as bad in photo as it does in life, maybe thats because Im worrying too much when I look at her in person? Her vulva isn't swollen or puffy yet, but looks awefully long for a doe tat should never have been bred yet, and while it could just be this doling, her anus sits lower than does I've seen that are open. Easy to see even when her tail is down and to the side a bit. Fingers crossed that everyone on here thinks she looks open!!
