Let's talk Cuckoo and WHITE marans... breeding strategies...

Hmmm maybe you downloaded them from somewhere? I get random stray cats here. They sneak into the coops and sleep in the nest boxes. I have key west roosters who will chase them off but they come back anyways grrr.

Just how big do your cuckoo roos get? I have one male from the bunch I hatched from yours that is about as tall as a 5 gallon bucket when he stands up straight. He is still growing and boy he sure does eat a lot. He is almost as big as my largest 3 yr old Orpington right now!
 
hey yall im in monroe nc and was wonderin somethin....i have a white silkie hen with a few black spots on her and on her feet feather i looks like brown lines goin across them could this be the start of cuckoo genes....she is in my paint breeding pen and in the spring im gonna breed her to black how will this turn out? thanx for any input!!!!!!!

not unless the Splash has a White gene normally White Marans are recessive whites and are from Cuckoos though of course you can breed in other colors so who knows what color you would get. It seems hard enough to breed them why mix colors unless you just want yard mutts because egg color is likely to suffer also when you cross them.....

New to the thread, I have 4 beautiful roosters I will try and get pics to post. one has one stray gold feather. 2 look very normal. 1 has lots of gold in his neck? questions, comments, pics what tolook for and also I would love to breed them but no hens anyone got eggs, pullets or hens.

welcome, once you post some pictures of the 4, others will be able to take a look and give you feedback. Have you check the Marans club websites- there are 2 different ones and maybe you can find someone close to you.
