Are you saying the feathers are wrong, or feet color?

Hi Morbius18.
interesting thing are happening with your crosses.

I like the brow cuckoo chick he s stunning .maybe he will turn up as the Golden golden cuckoo marans very rare.

what about the silver one you think he s from the Blue hen or just double barred .

eb dark face I thought they will have a darker hackle but it is not the case . lighter hackle.

I'm beginning to wonder if the brown faced chicks are going to have a light yellow gold hackle, instead of the reddish color.

Yeah I though a same that the dark face chicks will have a darker ( more coppery ) hackle .doesn t look like but they still young.

I like his face solid and pretty .

We are going to be moving to a place with more land, and I'm trying to streamline the flock. I've got a nice double barred cockeral that I want to use, so I've been thinking on getting rid of the f1 single barred rooster. He has provided me with about 8 pullets, 1 nice double barred cockeral and 14 more single barred cockerals. The singles barred are all destined for the freezer. My wife wants to retain my f0 rooster and keep with her buff flock. Do I need to retain the f1 single barred rooster? I prefer to keep 2 roosters until I stabilize the line, but dont want to be hasty about removing him.

I did a small hatch here this spring. Only 2 of 8 eggs that hatched turned out to be pullets. I chose the darkest eggs I had (which are not terribly dark), and will be looking forward to see how the new pullets' eggs turn out. They are almost 15 weeks old. The gold on their necks is rather subtle:

They are nice looking pullets. My second to last hatch had 14 cockerals and 4 pullets.

My f0 GCM cross to a black copper were really slow to gold up. With the f1 x f1 cross, they get gold when they start feathering up about 1 month.

Did the pullets gold up gradually, or were they like that the whole time?
