You see besides the cars are not modified stock cars, NASCAR has become about personalities instead of good old racing. It good for the pocket book of those involved, and the new vogue fans, but it sure is not worth watching or following to some of us old timers.

Actually to be honest, other than decals, the current average NASCAR does not have one single part from the manufacturer they represent. So it really is mute as to the heritage with Toyota now a part of it. The heritage of NASCAR faded away many years ago already.

I dont see where I can dispute anything you just said. Its all true. I still like NASCAR despite all the changes in the sport that we have all witnessed.

I am not a #24 fan, however you have not ever really heard me saying much negative about him. I know he has the best stats and he is for sure a top not driver. He is second in points at the moment and he shortened the gap yesterday. He is easy to make fun of for some reason though. I dont know if I ever seen a fan waste his beer on a drivers car like they do on Mr. Gordons.

I come from the land of Rednecks, and love when he wins. I get to rub it in their face. Especially back in the day of the #3.
He didnt win last year, but JR. coming over to the stable was good enough for a years worth of ribbing.

But back to the thread... I don't get it either. That team should be at the top of the game unless there is stuff going on that we never hear about. Politics and stuff, just not sure. It's like his heart just isnt in it anymore, but that can't be true.
