Let's Talk Wing Bands! (Please!)

I use the jiffy band and you can also get colors if you would like. I have never seen anything but aluminum. Don

Debbi, from the birds I've seen with them (remember, I have Langshans) you can't see the wing bands while the wing is folded. I'm only using the wing bands as a definite identifier for my white split birds so they won't get confused with my pure blacks.

For being able to immediately identify at a distance, I use the leg bands (for those hens that like to pop into other male's pens...)

I had gotten a trio of Nankins that were wing banded. I could see the bands when they were in normal position, I just couldn't read them without picking the bird up and looking close

lamb tags too large,

I have always used brass lamb tags. There the same size as wig bands.

Lamb tag (Tags measure 3/4" x 1/4") are a bit cheaper in price than "Wing Bands" but there the same thing all depends on who is selling them.
You can get them for around 5.00 a 100.
Try the link they have all types,
Aluminum Bar Coded , Enamel Coated Steel, Aluminum, Brass Tag list gos on.

Any ideas on where I can buy these relatively close to Fayetteville, AR? I ordered these puppies about a week ago and I'm moving my birds tomorrow. Kind of need to keep up with those that need to be separated.

Found a place to get them!!!

Bought brass so I could discern which plier set went with which bands! Gonna start practicing then do it on the older birds before I attempt the younger ones. Wish me luck!
