Letting chicks outside

On a good warm day, it's perfect to take the babies out. The sooner they are exposed to the things that the earth has to offer, the better they will be for both disease resitance and at foraging. Keep the trips short, as prolonged direct sun exposure, or chilling from a breeze in the shade can both offer stress for young birds. Watch and enjoy as they discover!

My babies love to go outside. Just watch the temp if you live in a cooler state. At 3 weeks I think they are at 85 for minimum temp right?

Absolutely! But don't turn your back for a second! I walked about 5 paces away with my back to my chicks and a hawk swooped down and took one...I was so horrified! Just be careful!
