Letting chicks roam free in yard, How to get them back in coop?

Well then I apologize for my bad manners. I am new to the BYC and my question was pretty much the same as the OP so I posted it. Obviously I am low in the pecking order and have a lot to learn. Sorry to the OP for messing up your thread.

No need to apologize. I was moderator on a DIY site for years, it happens all the time and the moderator is simply trying to help you get a more immediate answer if you cannot find it in this thread. New threads get WAY more views than older thread comments, and you'll get help much faster if you start a new one! Personally, I've gone the route of azygous (Thanks AZ) with the closed fist method and am working with my little ones as well as the adults. I didn't like the "scare" them in method, regardless of how well it worked. It just popped into my head and worked so well, I used it a few more times. However, my chickens are very tame and friendly and I did not want to take away from that. I'm still calling chik-chik-chik-chikaaaaaan and it usually gets them all running to me, but the new chicks still need to learn.
