Letting my hens hatch a brood of chicks

I've had chickens about 30 years ago. I picked up 8 hens but now have only 7. Would rather pick a couple of broody hens and let them hatch out, than to go buy chicks. I'm retired and enjoy chickens and the compost, but I'm not into a big commercial operation. Want to build a coop tractor in addition to my house by the garden.
