Letting purchased eggs 'rest' before giving them to broody?

OK! I have a broody! I have 7 fertilized eggs bought through Craigslist! Now I have to wait 24 hours for the eggs to 'settle' before I can give them to her? Why?

You don't have to wait. You can give them to her right now.
When I received "shipped" eggs that have been tossed around, I usually inspect them and just leave them on my desk until that evening and then I set them in my incubator or give them to Ms. Broody in the evening.
It just allows the tossed eggs to get "settled" a bit. Of course, they'll settle under a Broody just the same.

Oh good! I thought that seemed like weird advice. And I was worried about keeping them the right temp-- room temp too warm, fridge too cold! Once my husband gets home with the new broody coop, we'll move her and the eggs into it.

Be careful about moving her.
She "may" break her broodiness with moving and new eggs.
You just never know.
Is there any reason why you can NOT keep her where she is for a while?
