Poor quail. Always cooped up in a cage. How about letting them walk around?

So let's say you clip their wings and are in an enclosed area. Wouldn't they benefit from getting some exercise and nutrients from bugs and all?

if their in enclosed area you shouldn't have to clip the wing

They will enjoy running around and having a dirt bath and getting bugs

I wonder why you couldn't do something like a chicken tractor. Or put netting all around a trampoline and keep them in there. I would think letting them eat bugs and grass would be good for them. As long as it was predator proof.

Are you raising them for food? The biggest problem - other than the obvious predation problem - is that quails on the ground get worms, which means they can't be used as meat birds.
