i have been whanting to do some expiriments with my girls and new roo when they start laying . and i whant to know other peoples expiriments

Silkie-Rosecomb crosses make nice little birds. I've seen more than a few BYC posts about these. Mostly nice because they're very very very soft to hold and pet (think velvet pudding) and nice sociable pets, medium sized eggs. Ours are from dark blue silkie roo and black rosecomb hen:

This one is Kato, he irridesces purple and blue/green. I guess in purebred circles the purple is undesirable, but in Mutt Chicken, I've seen it called "Designer" colors:

Thanks for the opportunity to post pics. Now that I'm old, I like to sit around for a few hours in the am and do this. I bet I'll have no time once I can get out there and garden all morning when I'm home, so thanks!
