LG Bator, digital hygrometer, but still nervous! -updated on Day 19!

Alright, today was day 19.. on Sunday night, I took the eggs out of the turner, and candled them... 7 look good! The air bubble looks slightly bigger than I remember it to be in past years, but that could just be that I don't have a photographic memory!
I did have to toss one egg that was oozing and STUNK like none other (though it still had an air bubble and large dark mass from what I could tell. I was afraid of it contaminating the other guys though.
My temp went up when I added the warm water yesterday, so I got nervous and adjusted the temp down a bit... well, then when I arrived in the morning, it was down to 97... so, overnight - how horrid is that?
So, I filled all three water troughs in the bator, and humidity went from 45-50 where it's been and by mid-day was holding closer to 55%... that's not quite high enough for a hatch though, is it? Should I add a sponge too? Plug the vent? It seems like a low # considering all three troughs are full of water!! But I don't want to get too humid and drown the poor guys, as I seem to have done in the past!
Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!!
Say a little prayer that I get something to hatch, because the kids in my class are excited!!

I'm in NorCal and have an LG, I normally have to put 4 sponges in to even keep it at 50% and add a dish in addition to get it to the right hatching humidity. You don't want to lift it at all the next few days. Get some aquarium tubing , put it through one of the holes to use to add water so you don't have to lift it. Good luck!

Today was day 20 (actually, day 21 depending when to start counting). I got to school a little before 8, I heard cheeping when I cheeped at them, YAY... but no signs of pipping. I left the room for a few minutes, came back and there was a huge zip... by 8:30 the chick was completely out! Fastest zipping I have ever seen!
A second chicky hatched at 2:30, and when I left at 4:30, a 3rd had started (the blue!). So yippee! The kids are so excited, and school starts at 8:30, so everyone who was early or right on time got to see #1 pop out! The parents were pretty excited too.
I added two sponges in a bowl, and plenty of warm water to them. The humidity went up to about 65%, but only stayed there for a short time. When I left school, it was down to about 55%, but everything looked pretty full of water, and I didn't want to open it to add more. Is this okay??

Only have one vent plug in. Take the other out after all eggs have hatched. During incubation candle them every week until day 18. Humidity up and dont turn. Now if you put the humidity up to 70% yyou will have it slowly drop. LGs are great but a little tricky to geet the hang of so give it some time. Fiddle around with a couple of eggs and see what you can do. Congrats, -Jay
