LG still air. What a booger!

I have 2 hovas and today I went and got a third bator finally. Didnt have to beg the DH very much.

I went to 3 different places and no hovabator. GAH

So I had to settle for LG. Ive been trying to regulate the temp for hours an hours. Has anyone else had this problem? I noticed that the thermostat thingy just needs a very tiny turn to increase or decrease the temp. I guess patience is a virtue.

Worse $40 I have ever spent. Will be loading my Hova-Bator tomorrow. Also the temp dial, You just hardly touch it and it will go from 99 to 106. What a mess. Good luck!

Same experience here...totally unreliable. Regulated well for the first 2 weeks then went haywire when hatching began. Caused me to lose valuable Chicks, no more Lg for me other than use as a temp brooder/icu!

Look at the Incubation Cheater in my signature- a lot of things can look like your temps aren't stable, but it may be other factors. Read it well.

Further, it will definitely be hard to regulate in the beginning, but once you get it set, you don't ever touch it again!!

You just arnt trying hard enough!

I use only an LG and have had 100% hatches in it (only 5 eggs but so what)

My advice is once you get the temp settled leave it alone. Forever.

Put something in it to stabalize the heat, I use a jar of water and an old hot sauce bottle full of water.

Get it up off of whatever surface you have it on, I use 3 books, so that there is air circulation going on under it.

Cover it up, I use a wool Navajo blanket I got on vacation some years ago.

If you do all these things I can guarentee that you wont have to 'babysit' your bator. I have 44 ameraucana and easter egger eggs due to hatch monday. I started with 50, 3 never started developing and the other three stopped developing early on in the hatch....

we have had good hatches with our lg they do take time to zero in but we dont have to any trouble with them we now have a sportsman an use our 2 lg as hatchers.goodluck an just take a deep breath an turn tiny bit at a time

My lg holds the temp better when the turner and eggs are inside. I keep the house at a steady 68 degrees and honestly haven't had any major issues with temps. I'm on my third hatch with it and have had great success!!!!
