Same. I don't do more than making sure they don't get rained on, and flattening out their roost. Wind keeps OEGB'S, which truthfully are very similar to serama, so I don't really know why people complain about one but not the other

I like OEGBs too. Where do they originate from? Where do Seramas come from? Are they bred down or naturally small?

Malaysia. They are a true bantam, so no, they were not bred down

Malaysia is pretty warm, so its possible Seramas are fairly tropical and don't do well in the cold. I need to ask around in the Alaska thread, if they can keep them up there, I should be able to keep them alive just fine!

Hmm. I'm here to start the drama. One would assume that they'd be heat tolerant, but they were pretty mad about the Greek heatwaves. Not brahma level mad, but their mouth was open and they were sedentary for most of the day. The other bantams weren't phased as much, and the Tsouloufati weren't phased at all

I guess it depends on whether Greek heat and Malaysia heat are the same! I would imagine the Brahmas struggled in the heat, they look pretty heavily feathered.

I definitely struggled with this, they were my babies and I just couldn't take their lives if they could be saved. But at the same time, I was venturing into uncharted territory, it was scary and I didn't need the stress, I just wanted normal flock of chickens! After it was all said and done, I was SO glad I stayed the course, and of course by saving their lives, they went on to live wonderful chicken lives and it warmed my heart they were happy to be alive.

It's quite the tale! Having lived through it, you have experience and knowledge you can share with others going through something similar and that is truly invaluable!
