LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Welcome! I am a married man, but my wife is super supportive of my sexuality. Different strokes am i right? Glad you found us!
Oh! I just found this thread! Hellooooooooo! Myself and my husband are LGBT+ (that’s sometimes a head scratcher for people but just goes to show there’s more out there than tropes) and I love finding community within my interest groups! We’re new poultry keepers and have been learning so much here!

We were married before we came out to ourselves even! But I love our marriage and we are best friends and solid partners so yep, I totally get it. Every marriage is unique and evolving with the people in it. Life is so cool and interesting.

I wonder if @allosaurusrock will pop back in sometime soon. Hoping the tag sends some sort of ping. I know they've been MIA for a couple months, like we all get at times.

If so ,maybe you could edit the first post to say something along the lines of "please read through the thread before commenting. Most questions or disagreements have been amicably resolved in the spirit of community, and if not, we refer to admins. Please do not sacrifice the thread by making this thread into a debate."

Is there a way we could get an admin to do this for us if allo doesn't come back?

Haha, thanks @ChristinLewin . :p

@jolenesdad that chick with the afro is adorable and silly looking. :p I don't think I've ever seen a hatchery mark males/females? Always a relief when they all arrive alive and healthy. <3

Today I have to finish my cornhole board. My tool batteries were plugged into the wrong outlet yesterday and didn't charge. (We have a broken GFCI on one outlet that gets fiddly with weather changes.) I didn't notice until it was too late. But I fixed it so they would charge overnight.
Then I have to bake bread buns with mask/gloves/hairnet. Bleh. The things we do for the people we love. :p
I know. Fro chick is ADORABLE!!!

I haven't ordered layers from many hatcheries. I know MPC does. I also have always seen clearly marked chicks at my feed store from hatcheries. I called Murray and they said they mark only when asked. I just assumed when you specifically order a set number of male and females as opposed to SR, they would mark. My mistake! Also, it's only the Crevecouers I ordered males on anyway, so I'd rather keep them all. :-D
