I was expecting to be more pages behind!


last week was very stressful I finally got my ADHD medication which is good but stressful to try for the first time

worst thing is Fanta (assistance dog in training ) is on crate rest again!
She has hurt her left knee. She has done this before with her right knee vet said right knee was probably her damaging her knee ligament, we haven’t taken her too the vet yet but it seems like the same thing has happened to her left one

Which is very worrying. She has also limped on her left knee before very slight after a walk which I thought was just her running around stupidly but now I am not sure

There is some hope her muscles are just not strong enough and she needs to strengthen them. she broke her elbow when she was younger and was on crate rest for a while. I don’t think it is that though she hurt her knee around 5 months after she was off crate rest and its not like she has been sitting around not doing anything since she broke her leg

so she is on crate rest for a while probably and potentially may have to retire depending on whats going on her retiring brings a whole lot of other issues

It's tough to see them struggle.

I forgot she has also 3 times suddenly been really scared for no reason, which I am now wondering could be have been a sudden sharp pain in her knees

Fear stages can be brought on by pretty much anything, pain could have definitely brought it on her.

She has been through fear stages before. this has been really weird like a sudden panic rather then being scared of anything specific

no noises, no object, just suddenly start bouncing me (her response to being other excited, nervous, unsure, etc) then she will tuck her tail and walk crouched. Today she tried to run back to the house other times we weren’t near the house. Normally when she see anything scary she will stand stiffly, bark then check on me or bounce me and keep watching what ever set her off

I had a Maltese with very spindly legs, early in life he developed arthritis. He would get these "inflammation attacks" limping and struggling to walk, and jumping or twisting funny would set these attacks off. He would go into panic mode, tail between his legs, whining, hiding... having a fear episode. It's hard to know what sets dogs off. My Toby panics when a fly gets into the house, he hides in his crate every time! Complicated thought processes in dogs.

Quail are SO small there isn't much you can do if they break a toe. But definitely don't keep them on wire, use bedding so not to hurt their tiny toes and pads. Quail get bumblefoot and rip toes easily on wire.

i keep mine on sand and i check their feet every few days. i wish i could do more

Really? Mine have never had an issue. But I have a rabbit tray too for them to take a rest on
