LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

It's always nice to connect with local chicken people. Are you hoping some keep bantams, so you can exchange tips?
I may as well go all out tiny! I just read on line Bantam Seramas are 6 to 10 inches tall???? I think a few of my Butler Bobwhites were that tall!! I will be asking YOU for tips for sure!! :)

I've also read that OEGB are hardy little birds. I need to do some wind-breaking around the small coop they'll be spending their winter in. I hope it doesn't get as bad as last winter! Because I do NOT want to have chickens in the trailer all season, again!!!

Amazingly, the outdoor birds were okay for the short period of time it went down to almost -50.

Sorry for the late reply, I got 'poked' by a dear friend that was worried because I went missing for a few days. :) :hugs Just being lazy!
:hugs 🥰 :hugs Glad you resurfaced Wind! :)

Yup. I might have one or two pullets slightly smaller than that as well. They're really tiny. I'm honored to be giving you serama tips

I love to learn, let the tips rip! :)

Wow, OK, I take it being so light they are good flyers? Are they going to be flying up into the trees and such? :D

Teeny, itty bitty! Seramas are so cute. I can imagine having one in here with me right now, watching me type stuff on BYC.

"What do you think of that, Tiny?"
"Peep peeeep. Peeeeep peep peep. Pip!" :)
They sound simply adorable! Now I want a house chicken Serama. :p

Yeah😅. I've trained mine to fly to my arm in case they go berserk for whatever reason while free ranging. That's why they get very little (supervised) free ranging time. The best I can explain to you how good they are at flying is: Pick one of your birds up. Hold them 1/2 of a meter off the ground. Then drop them. Most birds would land, whether they'd like to or not. Not serama. I've dropped them (accidentally), and they ascended about three meters in the air, and then proceeded to fly to a tree

All the serama happily cuddle eachother and sleep on my shoulder. If you'd like a shoulder pet to help you with chicken chores, this is it. Especially Lady Gaga, and as an added bonus, even if he crows right into my ear, my eardrum won't die

I like that you can train them! I live in a forest, they'd disappear easily around here so they would definitely need to be supervised at free ranging and be trained to fly to me when needed!
