LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I don't have enough sunshine coming in ANY of my windows to support plants, so I live vicariously through all of you!
I don't have much window space either, grow lights really help. Although I do the "cactus shuffle" every morning there are sunbeams on the floor or and window ledge. 🤣 Rules of the house, "Watch where you are walking, Cacti on the Floor!" 😂 And in the summer I do get many of them outside for natural sunlight.

😁 Yes I need to dig up my list to see what is a priority. I am really enjoying Euphorbias and would love to expand on this species. I like the Ferocactus types too.

I saw a Melocactus on line yesterday that had a cap as big as the entire plant! 😁 It was kind of funky looking, so me as well, I'm not sure how I feel about them either.

How are your Stapelias doing?

I will keep you posted on any new arrivals! 🥰

Euphoria are amazing! I’ve got three now, and I would love to get more this year!

Eh, not great. The variegata is doing AMAZING. The hirsuta keeps getting worse. I need to repot them in smaller pots and take them out of the sun ASAP.

Please do!

Hey Y'all I haven't been around in a minute, for what ever reason this thread drops off my Alerts.

My chick order comes in 16 days... I went overboard a bit and ordered 20...

I have been distracting myself from current events and built a new coop/run/feed room. We call it chickentown, which according to hubby I am the mayor of.

Its not quite finished but all the heavy lifting is done and it will be safe and secure when the chicks are ready to leave the brooder.

This is also the earliest I have ever got chicks, I brood outside in a shed its 26 out right now, buying a 2nd heat plate as well.

Best of luck with the upcoming chick order, and congrats on the coop build!
Do share pics of them when you get them :p
What breeds are in the order, if you don’t mind?

Cool list! Are the golden buffs the RSL version of Meyer?

Those Leghorns look very pretty! Never seen them before
RSL? I am not sure... I wanted high production egg layers I just sent in my state egg handler application and I am hoping to get enough production to supply a local restaurant by july or so, I have 7 pullets already that hatched last September so I should be seeing a lot of eggs! If the restaurant does not come though I will set up an egg stand
