I was thinking about this post....dont Anatolian Shepherds have a bit shorter hair?

They do have shorter hair. I have GPs. Love them. If they didn't have six strands of electric fence to stay behind, they'd roam the CONTINENT!

I read somewhere once that if you didn't set/fence a Pyrs boundaries that they'd make their own LARGE territory.

My SPCA dog Link is our LGD! He was cheap, loyal and loves the outside. He is shepard/rotti mix and has gotten 1 coon and 3 possums!!! GOOD DOG~

I would take a chicken to the spca and see what the dog does...LOL like when you take your other dog...hahaha

Debra aka floridamama ran a rescue and has some dogs at her house. They have chickens but not sure how they treat the chickens since they are in a different part of the yard. I also know they need fenced in yards since they tend to run like my dog! She has a beautiful Husky, sooo pretty but not sure how he did with chickens and she had a pit mix(i think) who is sweet. She had a guy give her rescued collie a home! She will come outside and there will be a dog chained up to her gate

She takes them in,feeds them and finds them loving homes.

Not sure where you located but i would try the chicken at the SPCA..hehehe Please save a dog~ My Link is looking at me and i would die if i lost him or something hapened to him! He is my BFF

If I wanted to get a mutt, I'd make sure he didn't have bird dog in him. I had a golden retriever when I was a kid who would kill a cat or a chicken in two good shakes.
