LICE AGAIN!!!!!!

Having their birds on your property to feed them?!? WOW! Chickens need to be fed, and stay home. If they truly don't have food out for their birds, it's animal abuse, and 'getting defensive' about this situation doesn't sound at all good.
How about fencing along your property line? It won't make friends, but if they aren't feeding, report them.
Good luck, Mary
...yup, they are very irrisponsable animal owners, I honestly do not have money to fence my whole property right now, I am pretty young and have a job with one of my other neighbors and do a few gigs with my family band, but that is it (I live with my parents and 2 siblings) and I pay for every part of my chickens.

Three problems.
1. DE won't work to kill off a lice infestation.
If you can actually see lice on your birds you have an infestation.
2. You just scared the lice off the one bird and onto the others. You must treat everyone at the same time.
3. You didn't retreat to kill the freshly hatched lice before they got to egg laying age which means you need to retreat everything 2 more times.

Get some permethrin.
I check all my chickens every day for any lice, mites, injurys (ect..) and just noticed some on 1 today, 2 eggs and one adult lice were all I could find and I checked them all, so I wouldn't quite call it and infestation (it is my no means visible unless you are pushing back the feathers) ok, thanks! I am ordering that spray, (please come soon!:fl)

Premier1supplies has electrified poultry netting, a very nice product. Or, multiple strands of hot wire, close together, or, 4' tall goat fencing, at least. The electrified options are easier to install.
Mary
Thanks, I am saving up to build a much bigger run, so I don't really have the money right now, but I will save up for it:thumbsup
