Lice?

Last summer I noticed these little bugs under the rain flap of my nest box. Never found any in bedding or on girls. This year I have found them on eggs and in the nest box. Dusted the girls and will check them when I have a second

pair of hands. Are they chicken lice?

It could be, but to me it looks like it could be some other type of tiny insects. Hard for me to tell from the photo. You can treat them the same as mites/lice and repeat in 7 days for hatchlings. That should take care of the problem.

Kind of hard to make out but I'm with getaclue, doesn't look like one but better safe than sorry. So treat & if you can take some in a bottle to your Dept of Ag they maybe able to ID it for you.
