Lice

Is the chick with broody mama that you sprayed?
Did you see any egg clusters at the base of feather shaft around the vents?
I'm assuming you googled some images for reference.
Yes it’s with a mama right now, and no egg clusters were seen I do believe.

I’ve checked throughout the day for any lice and haven’t seen any on everyone except for the little serama rooster I first noticed them on, I saw only about 2-3 on his face and that was it, I checked his feathers and didn’t really see any crawling around so I think it worked out, I may take a q tip with the permethrin and wipe it on the neck close (but not too close) to the head to see if that works or a cotton ball doused with the solution I noticed they like to crawl under these red “flaps” under what I assume are his ears so I may take a qtip and try squishing the remaining lice I see if the permethrin idea isn’t recommended for such a small amount.. I’m unsure if any of you have treated yours and first run have killed all or if a few are supposed to be lucky survivors or not.. but I’m glad it seemed like it worked I sprayed everyone on the vents and under wings, I’m pleased with the results now despite a few tiny lice seen on my roos face..

Next round I may try a permethrin dip for the ones who are really infected though, I’ll be sure to try doing it on a warmer day next week when I should spray them again.. I’ve heard of some dipping them so I just thought I’d mention unless it’s not recommended of course, and just in case anyone’s concerned I of course mean dipping them in a diluted mixture of the stuff not straight from the bottle of course!

Give it time to work......there will be residual on the skin that will continue to work.

I was referring to your idea to dip your birds, can't imagine doing it here. And failing to be funny, apparently.

Ohhh I see yeah I just don’t catch on to what people say until later my bad :,) here where I’m at it doesn’t snow.. further up maybe but here no, it’s been real nice weather for the past few weeks hence why I thought the dip would work.
