No, it's better to individually dust each bird, hard to get spray up under the feathers where it'll be effective.
I have used the liquid to spray the pens though, works good that way and goes a long way too. Yes right now with all the rain and mess, it would be a little tuff for either method. Pick a good dry sunny day, it doesnt take long for it to do it's job. The morning after you treat them, they'll be gone. Then retreat as discribed above for eggs that may have hatched

I just did it. The poor girl was suffering with the little buggers. and now she seems all calm like it's already working.

It is, and yep, it doesnt take long, you can usually see them running for their nasty little lives if these a bare spot on the rump or something. When in direct contact, they dont last long. But dont worry, the chemical in Sevin is so mild, that is doesnt harm animals or people. We've used it here on the farm for oh I'd say all my life ,35 years, and it used to be twice as strong as it is now. Back before Frontline and all that stuff, it was all you really had for fleas on your farm dogs, dad made it where he worked, so we had tons of it.

I had a HEAVY infestation I found last week by loosing a roo to lice and mites. I ended up using Permitherin powder on the coop and then on the birds. I didnt have enough left for them all, so I went back to TSC the next day and with advice from you all on here, I got Premise Spray. (its the premitherine in a spray form). It called for 1/2 ounce per bird liquid form. I mixed it up, lifted their feathers in a few different spots and wetted. I will say that I am not happy with the powder that I dusted with and put down under their litter. It is REALLY dusty in there now. I am going to clean it all out again, use the spray and keep the dust down.

Good luck with your lice! get them under control. They can and DO kill your birds. I am one to testify to that.

If your interested in the frontline in the drops you can buy it on ebay under pets products. I have 4 dogs of different weights so I buy it the way the shelters and kennels do then i can give them the appropriate dose with out over medicating them. Much cheaper. I haven't used it on the chickens what is the withdrawl period on eggs with frontline? I hate I have to use anything on them but ya have to do what ya have to do.... thanks for the info....

I honestly don't know of any withdrawel time on the eggs. We were discussing this on another thread last night and a vet tech on here was on the main vet forum asking board certified vets, they refused to give an answer. We don't eat eggs from our cresteds, which are the ones that really ever need treated, they get sold or put in the bator. If I had to use it on my layers, I personally would just continue to eat the eggs. With a four drop dose, even on a bantam, I don't see any issues.
